After studying graphic design in Southern California, then figure drawing in Monterey where my instructors gave me a one man show, I was encouraged to attend the Academy of Art College in San Francisco where I earned a BFA with an emphasis in Illustration and Computer Animation. 

 I enjoy creating illustrative images in a variety of media including acrylic, guache, watercolor, ink, pastels, graphite, or a mixture of these. Although I can produce a very accurate representation, I prefer putting something more unusual into the image or keeping it looser and letting the paint speak in it's own way.

   As an artist I welcome the opportunity to create new illustration and design for those who find my approach appealing, and am now open to exploring new creative venues.

I have also been a successful competitive rider, horse trainer and instructor for more than thirty years, and I believe that having studied sports training, biomechanics, and living on both coasts of North America has given me a keen eye for choosing which details are the most important ones to include in a piece.
